Advert description
A native Italian qualified teacher with over 8 years’ experience in teaching Modern Foreign Languages in secondary schools in England.
I have a first-class honours degree in European Languages and Cultures (Unimore) and a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Portsmouth. I was awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with my teaching being judged ‘outstanding’.
During my career, I have taught Spanish, French and Italian to KS3, KS4 and KS5 students. Throughout the years, I have developed an in-depth knowledge of the English curriculum and the exam specifications of the main exam boards (Pearson Edexcel, AQA, Eduqas, Cambridge).
Thanks to my previous experience in a range of different schools, I am skilled in tutoring students of all levels and abilities. I always take into account the students’ level and ability while planning my lessons and make sure these are tailored exactly to the student’s needs and the qualification they are studying for.
I've also tutored several absolute beginners. Being a non-native English speaker, I understand the challenges of learning a new language firsthand. For this reason, I will be able to guide you through your language-learning journey, ensuring it's manageable and not overwhelming.
I am also a strong advocate for the use of technology in the MFL classroom. For this reason, I try to include language games and other interactive tools whenever possible.
Prior to starting my career in education, I worked as a freelance translator.
