Software engineer turned tutor, offering tailored lessons for all skill levels to foster learning and passion for programming.

I am a professional software engineer with 4 years of experience in industries such as Finance, Pharmaceutical and general freelancing. My technical experience is mostly Java, Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript and ReactJS. During my time at University when I was a 3rd year working on my dissertation in the computer labs, the 1st year seminars would be running while I was in the lab sometimes. I noticed that they were really struggling with basic concepts, after listening to the postgraduate try and explain things to the 1st years, I realised that the trouble they had as an educator was thinking it was a very easy concept because they knew it already. As the Computer Science Society president, I was friends with a lot of the 1st years, so out of feeling bad for my friends, I took it upon myself to write learning material for these basic concepts and delivered them to the 1st years. As programming did not come easily to me at the start of my Computer Science degree, I understood why the basics were hard to understand making my delivery way more digestible and understandable. It was very satisfying to hear the words "Oh, I think I get it now"
