Advert description
As a tutor, I have developed my communication skills by breaking down complex concepts into simpler more graspable ones. I built a rapport with students by helping them to achieve their desired grades. This has been showcased through my GCSE grades. I organised my time and resources well throughout my time studying for GCSES. Furthermore, before exams I had the opportunity to go to Cambridge University and to explore university life but at the same time, I was able to set time aside to revise for my exams to make sure I got the grades I wanted. This clearly exhibits my time management and organisation skills, as students would generally feel stressed around this time before exam period, but because I had amazing skills it meant that I was able to go on this trip and not feel stressed at the same time about my exams. Also, I have showcased similar skills in my role as a peer mentor to Year 7s, as I had to be able to communicate well and my attendance was especially key in this role. Regular attendance was key in this role as going to every session meant that I was monitoring the Year 7s regularly and helping them when needed. Communication was also key to this role as it meant that the Year 7s were able to communicate with me easier making it easier for them to be able to talk to me about any problems they had. Being able to help with revision techniques will help to make certain that they are not just rewriting notes from lessons but also doing practice exam questions, marking it and going over what they don’t understand.
