Advert description
have been teaching for over 5 years now. In this time, I have also had 2 children and have taken many roles such as being an SEN teaching assistant, supply/cover teacher. I have worked in both public and independent schools. Through my experiences, I have learnt that patience is key in teaching. You must have patience when teaching children of all ages and different abilities. Not all children work at the same pace and at the same level. Some require one to one support whereas others can carry out independent learning. For this reason, I ensure I have a variety of worksheets and tasks prepared beforehand. To ensure at least every student is looked after. My time with SEN students has been rewarding. I provided one to one support with students that required support in class and with certain tasks. I ensured that I broke down the content for them and encouraged the student to answer the questions or complete tasks by themselves before I attempt to help them myself. I had to ensure the student was focused, paying attention and to ask for help when needed. I believe being organised is essential to teaching. I am always ready very early in the morning, I come in to school early to print out worksheets and have my lessons ready beforehand. I always read over my lessons before I teach the students. This ensures that any misconceptions are avoided and allows a good flow and pace to the lesson. I ensure I have a positive teacher-student relationship as this will encourage enthusiasm and motivation for the subject science, this may take some time which is why patience is key. I find my teaching job such a rewarding aspect of my life. I have grown more confident and passionate about teaching. I thoroughly enjoy teaching the subject science and always encourage this throughout my lessons. I ensure my lessons are engaging so that students stay focused and have enthusiasm for the subject. I am a hardworking individual; I aim to see success in all my students. If I see that a particular student in class or the whole class is struggling, then I strive to try again and try to encourage learning in different ways just so they can understand. I work effectively as a team, and this is due to my effective communication skills. You must communicate with staff members to ensure you're up to date with everything, voice any concerns and avoid misconceptions in science.
