Portuguese Language Tutor for A-level /GSCE /Traveling

I wish to apply for the post of Portuguese Tutor which was advertised on Indeed website. I believe that I have the necessary qualities, qualifications and experience required for this post.

I have a Bachelor in Language and Literature (Portuguese/Linguistics) by the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. The Bachelor course at the University of Sao Paulo was a truly inspiring setting. The syllabus was varied with shared emphasis from traditional literary sources like Camoes to modern thought in literature from other post-colonial Portuguese speaking countries. My combined degree in Portuguese & Linguistics gave me solid foundations in the Psycholinguistic and Sociolinguistic subjects. This helped me understand how we learn a language and how we should respect the variations in language.


Motivating students to work with me towards them achieving their language goals is something that I find hugely enjoyable and rewarding.

Since moving to London, I developed my interest in second language acquisition. The CLTA from Goldsmith University covered the teaching methods I needed for me to teach Portuguese to adults in the UK and thus cementing my existing skills obtained in Brazil. After gaining my CLTA in 2008, I have worked for several college in London and language agencies.


The opportunity to socialize with people from multi-ethnic and multilingual backgrounds made me rethink my own nationality and inspired me to further study and I wrote my MA thesis in the expression ‘jeitinho brasileiro’ and its markers, charm, simpatia and jeitinho as the Brazilian national identity to a group of Brazilians living in London.
