Building professional but trusting relationships with my students is key to creating ambitious learners. My strategies follow the line of identifying areas of both strengths and weaknesses, followed by developing customised techniques to address their specific challenges. My teaching will encompass essential academic concepts, study skills, and critical thinking techniques. I like to ensure that not only do the student's grasp the material, but also build confidence and motivation to apply their knowledge to exam questions, which is essential for maths. Through regular assessments, including mini topic tests as well as short homework assignments, I aim to provide constant feedback and support to my students, empowering them to reach their full potential. I strongly believe in praising a student for any achievement to allow them to connect with the subject, and develop a love for it. As I have been studying maths for many years throughout my GCSEs and A-Levels, I know the best resources to guide my students to success and really test their ability. I'm also aware of how easy it is to forget concepts in maths if you are not constantly applying your knowledge to a range of exam questions. Hence, my mini topi tests will include material covered from the start of our sessions, as a form of active recall.
