As an online tutor, it is a personal commitment of mine to accompany my students on their educational journey and support them in achieving their goals. I place great importance on not only fostering competence in written and spoken language but also creating a sense of enjoyment, fun, and ease in the learning process. My teaching approach aims for students to perceive every progress as a success, thus remaining motivated to continue giving their best. I firmly believe that a positive learning environment forms the basis for sustainable learning success. When teaching the German language, it is crucial to me that students not only master grammar and vocabulary but also develop the ability to express themselves in written and spoken language as well as understand each other. To achieve this, I employ playful exercises and practical situations tailored to the individual needs and situations of the learners. In my view, teaching is an interactive activity that aims to promote students in everyday-like situations, helping them develop step by step. I always orient myself to the context and adapt my teaching to the knowledge level and individual needs of my students. With my native proficiency in German and my strong English skills, I’m able to communicate with my students in both languages. Furthermore, my ongoing studies in German sign language interpreting enable me to communicate barrier-free with deaf students. Additionally, I possess further competencies and am therefore able to teach subjects such as music and sports/physical education. As an experienced musician with over 20 years of experience on the guitar (both acoustic and electric) and extensive knowledge of music theory and practice, I bring passion and expertise to this area as well. My wide interest in various sports and forms of movement, coupled with my experience in these areas, allows me to impart a holistic understanding of physical activity and health to my students. In all three subjects – German, music, and sports – I generally pursue a similar teaching approach, aiming to combine learning with joy, ease, and contextualization. Current findings in brain research confirm the importance of a positive learning environment for successful and effective learning.
