I have a PhD in Biology and have taught biology at Uppsala University at Bachelor and Master levels. I speak four languages and participate regularly in language exchange meetings. I understand how difficult can be to learn a new language both as a teenager and as an adult. I’ve been in both situations. Life keeps getting in the way and it can be frustrating to have to follow a given syllabus. Because of that, it is important to me that the students' curiosity guides the learning process. I place particular emphasis on motivation and adaptation to each student's needs. What really drives me is the sense of accomplishment when a student can do something they couldn't do before. I like to teach biology with the "flipped learning" method, where the student engages with the theory on his own (via books or videos) and later meets the teacher to apply the acquired knowledge in more practical lectures. This way we can focus only on clarifying the aspects that the student had more difficulty understanding, getting the most of the lecture time.
