Hello my name is Amaka, I'm from Manchester in the North west of England and currently live in London. My background is in PR and marketing, an area in which I worked in for over 15 years.

Languages are a passion of mine, I speak both Spanish and Portuguese. Having lived in both Spain(Barcelona) and Brazil(Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo) I have firsthand knowledge of the difficulties that students face when learning another language and the obstacles they come across when moving to another country.

My English teaching journey began in 2016, when I worked at an English immersion school in Rio de Janeiro and gave one-to-one and small group classes focusing on conversation and listening practice. After moving to São Paulo and working at an English language school, I set up my own business there teaching a cross section of individuals, mainly business professionals wishing to improve their English for work purposes.

In my lessons I cultivate a comfortable, student-centred, engaging and interactive environment in which to practice your English skills confidently. I understand that every student is different and therefore work with you to tailor the lessons to suit your individual needs, interests, level and learning style. In addition to the use of a dedicated course book, I also create my own worksheets and incorporate the use of authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, music and videos into the classes. I offer both business English and general English.
