My name is Ragini Shet and I’ve just finished my first year studying Engineering Science at Worcester College, Oxford University. I’ve been working as a tutor for over two years and teach Maths, Physics, Further Maths for all years up to and including A-L

Having been through the application process for Oxford, I understand the stress students face each year and know how important it is to not only have academic guidance, but also support during this stage. One of the biggest changes I faced when going from school to university was the difference in how I had to approach learning. On top of having to be a lot more independent, there was a much bigger focus on really understanding the fundamentals of the content applying it to different situations, rather than rote learning. I make sure when tutoring older students that not only do they do well in their exams, but teach them in a way to help them ease into this transition. In terms of lesson structure, I understand that each student is different and therefore ensure to tailor the lesson plan to suit the student best.
