Hello, my name is Hafsah, and I am a physics student at Kings College London specialising in medical physics, which has been my goal for the past three years. I wasn't a particularly strong student who understood things right away, and my grades were only
Advert description
My sessions are nice and easy to follow.
To begin with, I spend less than 5 minutes explaining what we will be doing in the session. In the next 20 to 25 minutes I will start to teach and explain the topic at hand. I will also go through key concepts, definitions of keywords as well as the use of some equations in real-life situations. Once the foundations are there I will then build up to harder ideas and try to relate them.
then with the remaining 25 minutes, I normally like to go through one or two simple questions to build up the students confidence and then I will start to bring in some exam-style questions of different levels of difficulty for the students to try or to pick apart. I don't always ask students to solve or answer the questions rather how they would go about doing it because I like to know how they think and how we can improve on strategy as well as methods.
In the last few minutes of the session, I like to ask the student how they think the lesson went and if they understood the content, I also ask them if they would like to do more exam style question to build up their confidence or if they would like to move onto the next topic. If there is anything they didn't like in my lesson I will tailor the lesson according to their needs and requirements
