I am adamant in making sure my students understands what I teach them therefore I am thorough in my lessons. Previously when I have tutored I continue to question and quiz my students to ensure they understand the work to then build up on harder topics. Since I have dealt with primary students I make work enjoyable it is also necessary to make learning enjoyable for secondary students as-well hence making the questions minimal but necessary at the beginning of the session. After teaching the basics I allow the student to have time to figure out themselves with a little help how to build up in that knowledge or how to apply it to exam questions, I find this helps them to be more independent and learn more faster with better understanding as they have been able to connect dots themselves. If they cannot I will help them as well. Then I allow them to do a range of exam questions after to further solidify their knowledge. In the next couple lessons at the beginning I give them exam questions to do linking back to previous topics to prevent them from forgetting.
