Music tutor specialising in guitar, piano, songwriting, production and sound

As a self-taught musician of 15 years I have come to a deeper understanding of the instruments and music than would have been the case if I learned through a rote or grade-based fashion. Through this approach and my experience as a tutor, I learnt the importance of developing one's own niche as a musician, asking the most important question 'What do I want to play?'. This takes away any elitist attitudes of musicianship as a competition and allows for the student to come to the instrument in their own way. It is my goal to be a guide to the student so they can find their individual mode of expression and learn what it is they truly wish to get from learning their instrument. With 10 years performing in bands and 6 years writing songs for my own project Candy's Room, I aim to build the confidence in my students to carve out their own interests and perform to others or for themselves.
