Maths and Physics graduate tutoring A-levels and above

In my sessions, the principal focus is the student. My job will be to explore their prior knowledge, and how they like to learn. Some students prefer an in-depth approach to the subjects, while others go for a practical one. Once I get to know them, I will tailor our lessons to their specific needs.


We would first work on building knowledge in the background theory. It is a common mistake to try to memorise how to solve exercises without understanding them. Making sense of the theory will help the student get a deeper insight into the subject, and help them adapt and reason through any kind of question they might face in exams.


I also like to work with them in learning how to apply the theory to related questions. One of the best ways of learning anything is by testing yourself, even if you don’t fully master the topic(s) yet. The use of past papers and topic-specific questions will be crucial for that. That way, we work on building bridges between theory and practice.


I like to deliver my lessons in a safe and friendly space where the student is welcome to interact and ask as many questions as possible. Curiosity is a great fuel for learning, so my job will be to adapt my sessions to the natural ‘curiosity flow’ of the student. This way, they will feel more motivated to learn.


I also like to give the students advice on how to study, time management and exam tips.
