Mahmoud Bayoumi is a Lecturer of Virology, Cairo University. I have just done my PhD studies in molecular virology, immunology, molecular Biology, and viral epitranscriptomics at Lancaster University, UK (2023). I aim to provide lessons of biology and a

Advert description
Undergraduate and post-graduate teaching of Virology, and molecular Biology. Virological assays: Virus isolation, propagation, and titration on various tissue cultures and ECE models. Virus models: Different influenza virus subtypes, including H1N1, H3Nx, H5N1, and H9N2, NDV, VSV (wt- and GFP models), ILTV, MDV, IBV, IBDV, …. and other veterinary/zoonotic virus models. Cell culture: good handling of different types of cell culture, including • Primary cells (chicken/duck embryo cells) CEF, CELi, CEK • Established cell lines; DF1, HEK293T, BHK, Vero, MDBK, MDCK • Even some algal cells (Master thesis, Algal expression of viral antigens) Serological and immunological assays, including ELISA, SNT, HI, IF, and Flow Cytometry. Molecular biology assays, including molecular cloning assays, reverse genetics (Influenza RG-based systems), and Knock-out (KO)/Knock-ins (KI) CRISPR/Cas9-mediated experiments and gene editing using CRISPR/Cas13b effector in chicken cell model (DF1 cells), PCR, qPCR, RPA, gene expression, RNA stability assay. Protein-based assays: Western blot, immunoprecipitation/pull-down assays and some experience in mass spectrometric analysis. Epitranscriptomics techniques and high throughput sequencing analysis, including m6A-dot blot assay and m6A-seq (MeRIP-seq). Live and fixed cell imaging using confocal microscopy.
