Advert description
Skills and Experience
I have a strong academic foundation in English, having achieved excellent results in my A Levels (AAA) with a focus on English, Philosophy, and Economics. As an English Peer Mentor, I organized reading lists, provided tutoring for GCSE students, and even coordinated a conference featuring Martin Clarke of the Daily Mail, where I had the opportunity to interview him. This experience honed my ability to guide students through complex texts, improve their analytical writing, and enhance their confidence in the subject.
Additionally, my role as a Peer Supporter and my involvement in leadership positions at school have strengthened my communication, empathy, and ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
How I Will Teach
My teaching approach is tailored, engaging, and results-driven. I begin by assessing the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals. Lessons are structured around clear objectives, using a combination of textual analysis, discussion, and practical exercises such as essay writing and comprehension tasks. I encourage active participation and critical thinking, fostering a deeper understanding of the material while building confidence.
I also incorporate creative techniques, such as exploring themes through storytelling or drawing parallels to modern contexts, to make lessons relatable and enjoyable. Progress is monitored closely, with regular feedback and adjustments to ensure each student achieves measurable improvement.
