Half of the work is understanding your needs and to address how to efficiently communicate with you, half is bringing you the desired knowledge. I claim to do both, with a particular emphasis on understanding first the student, make them feel confortable and receptive. Then we can adjust to the rhythm you want to work on. I prefer adopting problem-solving oriented approach, that is designing methodologies to solve each type of problem efficiently and consciously. Then applying them to more and more difficult set of problems, which will allow us to understand the underlying concepts naturally. That approach can be especially useful for exam preparation.
