Advert description
I have a degree in History and completed my PGCE in History. I have been teaching for 4 years, I have had GCSE classes for both History and English.
I have delivered well planned and creative schemes of work across both Key Stage 3 and 4, which have yielded impressive results in terms of both pupil feedback and summative grades. I have been able to support learners of all abilities to achieve and progress with appropriate scaffolding and differentiation. I ensure that opportunities for stretch and challenge are always implemented within my lessons, enabling students to achieve their full potential. I believe the ability to capture pupils’ interest and enthusiasm is an essential skill to obtain in creating a successful teaching and learning environment.
Undoubtedly the most challenging aspect to teaching is ensuring that all students are progressing in learning. I believe it is important to create a student-led classroom to allow students to have control of their learning through group work, independent tasks, and variety of different activities such as debates, recapping prior knowledge through images and building understanding through topic related booklets. I have integrated a variety of teaching methods such as mixed ability grouping of individuals to facilitate high ability students and aiding the low ability students. I am able to effectively differentiate lessons in order to accommodate the needs of mixed ability classes with low ability, pupil premium, EAL, SEND and higher ability learners together in one room.
