Advert description
I look forward to showing you the beauty, elegance and ubiquity of Mathematics and Physics. The study of these subjects is an investment well worth your time and effort because, unlike much of what we see and hear around us, these are basic and eternal truths. The people who came before us discovered these ideas and they deserve our gratitude which we can show by learning the concepts and principles they left for us. We stand on their shoulders and are fortunate to be able to move on to even greater levels of progress and understanding which leads to greater prosperity and happiness for us all.
What is unique about my lessons is that I provide one or more of my Summary Sheets about the topic that helps a student more easily RETAIN thru REPETITION what they have learned months [ or years ] after the lesson. It is a page [laminated if in person; emailed if online] summarizing the ideas one must know about the topic and makes it easy to go over the ideas many times after the lesson thus using REPETITION to impart RETENTION. I have created and continually refined nearly all of these sheets over my 15+ years of tutoring including 10 years in classroom teaching .
I was an electronics engineer for 35 years. Then I taught High School Calculus, Math and Physics for 10 years. I hold BSEE and MSEE degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY which is the oldest technical college in the U.S.
I have worked in Nuclear Physics and in Silicon Valley for my 35 year engineering career, mostly at particle beam accelerators [atom smashers]. I was on the engineering team that supported the first discovery of Element 106, Seaborgium in 1975. I was also awarded "Best Circuit Design Idea" of 1975 by Electronic Design Magazine; "Phase Locked Loop made from CMOS Quad Ex-Or gate"
