I have a Masters degree in English and Comparative Literature from Goldsmiths University of London, and trained to be an English teacher after I left college. I have a great deal of experience writing for magazines in the UK and the US. I've penned several books of fiction, poetry, and written songs for bands/performance artists. I am particularly good with idiomatic expressions and slang from various parts of England and America (I studied with an American dialect coach for over a year). I believe knowing which colloquial expressions to use and when it’s appropriate, along with having the confidence to lean into local dialects, is key for a student wishing to blend seamlessly with the country they are in.
