Advert description
I have a First class degree in Psychology from the University of Leeds, and have over a year of experience working as a tutor, working both privately and with schools. I have a great passion and desire to help others achieve their potential and gain top marks in these areas. I am a friendly and personable character, who understands the value of good communication and building a positive rapport to enhance the learning experience.
I am currently completing a master's in Sport Psychology, and looking to do a PhD beyond this. I have a background in maths and science, gaining all A*s at GCSE and A-Level, and so also offer maths support for GCSE.
Having worked with 11 students within the past year alone, I have gained experience working with a range of personalities and learning styles, and have adapted my lessons to fit each pupil's needs. The focus of my lessons is about learning the underlying theory, but most importantly then applying this to exam questions. I have found that many smart students are capable of understanding content, but struggle to pick up marks when it counts in the exam. I also use these exam questions to measure how students have progressed in their understanding, and identify any areas to focus on in following lessons, to get the most out them!
