Former Peggy Guggenheim intern and History of Art tutor offering private lessons for children and teenagers.

Advert description
I use visual analysis, engaging discussions, and comparative studies to help students explore the connections between art and history, philosophy, and culture. My approach is to foster critical thinking and inspire curiosity, ensuring students can confidently analyze artworks and understand their significance within a broader historical and cultural framework. In my art history lessons, I focus on helping students develop a deep understanding and appreciation of artistic movements, techniques, and cultural contexts. I guide students through key periods, from prehistorical to contemporary art, with a special emphasis on areas like Pre-Raphaelite and Japanese art, aligning with my own research, explaining the why’s in art history- why does the artistic movements look in the way they do. I had the opportunity to intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, where I gave tours and talks on various art topics. My focus included the works of Kandinsky, as well as the ‘Migrating Objects’ tour, which featured art from Africa, Australia, Oceania, as well as Renaissance , Mannerist and Baroque Italian art. This experience allowed me to engage with diverse audiences and deepen my understanding of global art movements and their cultural contexts. I was also very involved with the works of Joseph Cornell and his shadow boxes which I continued in one of my dissertations talking about the motif of fairytales and ballet and I was also auditing children tours in the museum exposing them to the works of Cubists and Futurists.
