Advert description
About the Lesson: As a passionate advocate for sustainability in fashion design, my teaching philosophy is rooted in providing a holistic, student-centered experience that not only enhances design skills but also promotes critical thinking about ethical and sustainable fashion practices. I assess each student’s current skills and knowledge to tailor the curriculum to their specific needs, ensuring a progressive learning experience that aligns with both industry standards and environmental responsibility. My approach integrates theory with hands-on practice, encouraging students to connect research, design, and execution to build a professional portfolio suitable for university or advanced career applications. Key Focus Areas: Sustainability and Ethical Design: I emphasize sustainable and ethical design choices throughout all lessons, from sourcing materials to creating designs that minimize waste. Research and Concept Development: Each project begins with thorough research, helping students draw inspiration from diverse sources while understanding fashion’s impact on people and the environment. Practical Skills Development: Through hands-on lessons, students will develop practical fashion design skills while learning how to adapt them to sustainability challenges in real-world scenarios. Portfolio Building: Throughout the curriculum, students will work toward building a polished, industry-ready portfolio that reflects both their creativity and professional-level technical skills.
