I am a current student at Queen Mary University of London pursuing a degree in Neuroscience, specialising in Biological Sciences. I have a strong educational background, including a BTEC National Extended Diploma in Applied Science from the College of North West London and an AS Core Maths grade of A from Kingsbury High School. Additionally, I have achieved commendable grades in various GCSE subjects, demonstrating my proficiency in Arabic, Mathematics, Combined Science, and more.
In terms of tutoring experience, I have worked as a Tutor at Aim Islam Tutoring and as a Mentor/Tutor at Al-Muntaha Tutoring, where I built relationships with students and provided guidance in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Mathematics. I have prepared online presentations and homework assignments to support their learning. My experience extends beyond tutoring, as I have also worked as a Student Intern at Oxford Learning Lab (Vertex Pharmaceuticals), where I collaborated with professionals, conducted research on genetic diseases, and presented a Capstone project on Parkinson's disease. This opportunity allowed me to practice various laboratory techniques and gain valuable insights into the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore, I have demonstrated leadership skills through my involvement as a Young Leader in Young Enterprise. In this role, I directed activities promoting growth in mental, emotional, and educational areas, managed budgets for school-based projects, and ensured effective communication within the team. Additionally, I have gained customer service experience as a Sales Assistant/Customer Advisor at Boots, where I provided support, addressed inquiries, and maintained visually appealing displays.
In terms of personal development, I have participated in insightful programs such as Allied Health Mentor Virtual and Speakers For School Experience | NHS Virtual. These experiences have broadened my understanding of healthcare careers, the roles of different types of nurses, and the importance of patient care.
Outside of academics and work, I have achieved Sports Leadership UK Level 1&2 qualifications and actively organized sports events for my high school and local primary schools. This experience has allowed me to lead and support children with difficulties while planning engaging sports activities.
