Advert description
I have been a tutor since early 2020, when I started this career choice alongside working in
the NHS as a mature student nurse at the University of Sheffield. I later went on to make this
my full-time career, and in this time have worked with over 300 students, both long term and
short term, of all different ages. I have worked both through agencies, and privately, with
most of my students being referred through word of mouth. I have a DBS check which I
renew every 2 years, and I’m happy to share this with you upon request, with my most recent
being dated September 2024.
I work primarily with children in Year 5 and 6 in maths, and also children who are preparing
for their Grammar School 11+ exam. However, I cover maths, English and science up to
Year 8 level, 11+ exam preparation, English as a second language (for adults and children),
and home schooling for primary school children. I am a member of MENSA, and I have
achieved this because I work very routinely and am able to break things down into step-by-
step techniques. These techniques are passed on through my tutoring, especially in maths,
and I have had great feedback and results from this.
I am very passionate about my career, as I love to educate others, and I believe it is so
important to be a good role model and inspiration to young people, to drive them towards
achieving their goals in life.
