Advert description
Hi! My name is Melody, 22, from France. I have recently graduated from London South Bank University with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
I have started tutoring since I moved back to France a year ago. I have been tutoring French students who wanted to learn English for a year, ever since I moved back to France. Surprisingly, I had never thought of teaching my native language until now!
I have started tutoring because I wanted to pass down my knowledge and language learning tips, as well as to help students who face difficulties.
As someone who faced many difficulties in school (with maths, I was so bad!) I know the discouraging feeling when faced with difficulties, and I know just how much good support and good teachers can change lives.
Apart from my motivations and qualifications, I believe I could help you learn French, no matter your level, because I am myself an independent language learner and absolutely passionate about languages and how they are developed! (Currently learning German and Swedish)
Let me walk you through what the first lesson with me would look like :
1. Discussion : A good talk with the student is necessary to begin on the right foot and so that I am able to personalise the next lessons. My goal with this step is, mainly, to break the ice, but I also aim to understand you, your interests, your motivations and the way you view english and language learning.
2. Evaluation : This step involves several exercises (listening, writing, talking and reading) which will allow me to assess your level of english, your strengths and weaknesses, written and oral.
3. Feedback & Exchange : This is the time to give you your 1st feedback and explain what I think we need to go over in the next few lessons. However, this is above all, the moment for YOU to ask any questions you may have and share with me your worries and your expectations.
To summarise, I see the first lesson as the first step of our attack plan, to tackle your difficulties. My goal is to better understand you to better help you.
This method has already borne fruit! Indeed, by developing a solid strategy with my 10 year old primary school student, I was able to help him :
- integrate a very selective European specialty in middle school
- help him greatly improve his english writing skills (this was his greatest weakness)
Together, let's develop an efficent attack plan to conquer your
