Advert description
I have been tutoring and mentoring students from for over 20 years. I earned his B.S. in Bioengineering from Syracuse University in 2002, where my tutoring roots began, when I began working as a peer tutor in Calculus as a freshman. I later graduated with his MBA from Northcentral University in 2013.
From my initial tutoring days at Syracuse University, I taught Algebra I, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Geometry, and Precalculus at a private high school in Pennsylvania and continued to tutor students at the junior high, high school, and college level. I specialize in all sections of the SAT and ACT exam, but also work with students in several subjects, including but not limited to Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Writing and Grammar, English Literature, AP Language and Composition, Finance, Accounting, General Business, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Psychology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Nutrition/Food Science.
As a test preparation instructor, I take the approach of setting goals with each student and maximize achievement by focusing on areas of the test where the student feels weaker, as this is where I see the most opportunity for improvement. I do not just focus on content, but also focus on strategy when taking standardized tests. I show students how to eliminate false answer choices with success and use various strategy techniques when dealing with difficult questions on the SAT and ACT exams to help them achieve a higher score.
Overall, I have worked with over 1,000 students in person and online and have tutored and/or mentored a student in every continent in the world apart from Antarctica.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy helping others and my community. I served as an elected official in Scranton, Pennsylvania as the Vice-President, and Finance Chair of Scranton’s City Council. I was a former President of the Greater Scranton Junior Chamber of Commerce for 4 years, tied for the longest tenure in the history of the organization and won a national award as the Most Outstanding New Member in the United States among all Junior Chamber of Commerce chapters in America.
