Advert description
I am a friendly and patient languages teacher, currently teaching French and Spanish full time at a Grammar School in South West London where I am also Assistant Head of Year 9. I have several years' experience teaching both French and Spanish at KS3 and GCSE, and I also teach French at A Level.
I am a native English speaker who has always been fascinated by languages. After studying both French and Spanish at A Level, I went on to study French and Spanish at the University of Exeter. I also worked as an English Language Assistant in two secondary schools in France, as part of my studies. I then completed my Teacher Training (PGCE with QTS), also at the University of Exeter, before moving to London to pursue my teaching career.
I am in my fifth year of teaching this year, excluding my training year. I have taught in several different schools across the country and have worked with a range of students and therefore I am a very adaptable tutor.
During lockdown I carried out all my usual lessons online, via Google meet. This allowed me to develop strong skills and methods for teaching online as well as in person.
I have a lot of experience teaching learners of various ages. During my degree I spent 7 months living and working in Nantes, in France. I was employed in one secondary school and one high school as an English Language Assistant. I taught up to half a class independently, focusing on various cultural and grammatical topics. I taught students from age 11-18.
I also studied TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) level 1 and 2 as part of my degree, which involved preparing and delivering observed lessons to groups of international students at the University.
I carried out my PGCE with QTS at the University of Exeter. I completed two placements in two comprehensive secondary schools in Cornwall, before moving to London.
