Advert description
Hi! I am a part-time PhD student in Medical Statistics at University College London, and hold an Msc in Infectious Disease Epidemiology at UCL as well as a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Sheffield. For the past six years I have tutored Biology and Chemistry at GCSE and A-level to students with a range of abilities.
Having completed both my GCSEs and A-levels recently, I understand the stress and expectation felt by young people, and therefore the need for a patient and non-judgemental learning environment.
My time tutoring has helped to streamline the academic element of my teaching approach. No matter what grade a student is aiming for, I always begin by reinforcing the basic concepts associated with their subject and exam board.
Once I am reassured the basics are covered, I stick closely with course specifications, exam-style questions, and mark schemes. In addition, I try to guide students beyond the course content in order to broaden their subject awareness and appreciation, as well as help them achieve top grades.
I hope that my enthusiasm and love for Biology and Chemistry can help inspire students to study hard and achieve their goals.
