Experienced Chinese tutor for children from beginners to GCSE students

This is Mimi who came from Beijing, China, lived in the UK for more than 20 years. I worked as a Mandarin Chinese tutor since 2009.

I divided my students into two groups. One is qualification orientated. These students need to get a qualification or pass an examination such as GCSE, HSK, etc. For these students, I will be more academically focused. The lessons would have lots of listening, reading, writing, speaking, and grammar practice. The homework will be given. The exams are expected.

Another group is daily life orientated. The learning would be weighted on listening, speaking, reading, and less on writing. The way to learn is more casual as well.

I understand that no two students are the same. All the lessons are tailored to individuals.

The teaching materials I normally use are Zhong Wen, Easy Steps to Chinese, YCT series, HSK series, and GCSE textbooks from different exam boards. I also use real-life materials in my classes, such as children's books, articles from websites or social media, photos, advertisements, menus, etc. I like my students to learn ‘real’ Chinese.
