Excellent GCSE & A-Level Science tutor of 5 years

Hi, I'm Ria, a tutor based in London. I have 5 years of tutoring experience in GCSE Biology and Chemistry, A-Level Biology as well as KS2 and KS3 maths. I also have a Pharmacology BSc from University of Leeds.

I adopt a constructivist pedagogy where I'll always be patient and ensure the student fully understands the subject area I am teaching before moving on and consolidating knowledge with interactive information recall activities as well as guiding them through how to apply this knowledge in exam questions, specific to their exam board.

I am Flexible with the length of my lessons but I usually advise a minimum of-hour lessons and I can adjust the structure of these accordingly. I will start by addressing the subject matter/topic we are working through by explaining briefly what we are looking at, I will then ask the student any questions/uncertainties they have before giving them a more thorough in-depth lesson on the topic, breaking down challenging areas as well as their particular concerns. Once I am certain the topic is fully understood and the student is happy to continue we will move on to worksheet/exam-style questions.

I generally teach AQA exam board as this is what I'm most familiar with however I am happy to assess on a case by case basis whether I can support the student who requires alternative exam boards.
