A holistic approach is always the way to go. I always stress importance on tailoring your lessons to the needs of the student. It’s also crucial to remember that tutoring is a safe space for those who need it; there is enough stress in the school environment so if you are the type to lack patience or empathy for those who struggle, tutoring isn’t for you. As someone who has struggled myself I want to be the teacher that I wish I had by not showing judgement and doing my absolute best to not neglect someone who needs help.
