Drum tutoring and recording skills

I am a working musician and tutor specializing on the drum kit. I possess a wealth of experience both within performance and education. I am comfortable in studio situations, being very confident in the use of computer based recording software, as well as analogue systems.

I have over twenty five years of live experience, both within the UK and abroad, and have a full understanding of styles and techniques.

As a tutor, I work within the school system at several venues implementing required units to complete performance, and composition elements for GCSE and A level. I am regularly CRB checked to enhanced level, and attend Child awareness and protection courses as required. I am just completing a book and cd designed specifically for GCSE, and intend to construct a publication for A level students in the near future.


Functional summary

I have worked with the Mid Herts Youth Orchestra, am currently a performer with The Sirens of Titan, Maple Bee and the Charli Stephens-King Band. I have performed with many function acts and touring shows including a Blondie tribute show, an Oasis tribute, a Free tribute and a Carpenters show.
I run my own project studio and drum teaching facility based at my residence. Here I use Cubase and Power Director to record and edit music and video, teach online and in house, and also extend my skills to teaching recording basics and more advanced techniques.
I have completed many film and sound projects which have found their way onto many social media streaming platforms. Great awareness of microphone techniques and placement for all instruments both for live work, and studio sessions, especially focusing on drum setups and vocalist situations.
