I have previous experience tutoring A level Biology and Chemistry students. We were able to identify the topics they were unsure about and explain them coming from a different approach. Practicing as any past exam questions as possible and showing them model answers gave them all the confidence for their exam. From previous tutoring I have learned adaptability and patience which are crucial skills when helping students grasp challenging concepts. My tutoring approach is centred around the belief that learning is most effective when it is interactive, engaging and tailored to individual learning styles. Everyone understands concepts and memorises and recalls information in different ways. I would like to find exactly how the student grasps concepts so as to explain most them effectively. Once we have identified together the topics that they find hardest we can focus on them and truly conquer them! I try to make lessons as interactive as possible to ensure the student is fully engaged with lots of problem solving questions and related to real life scenarios. The goal for students is to walk away not only with a solid understanding of the subjects but also with a sense of excitement, curiosity and the confidence to tackle new challenges.
