I teach like a buddy, we would bounce ideas of one another to make sure that my student actually understands the topic well and they have a sense of individuality. I love using analogies to describe certain processes that the student may find hard to understand. I am a visual learner so I will show my student ways to understand complex topics using drawings and diagrams
