Advert description
I work, as a class helper at First Class Learning, every Saturday 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
I work with children, who are studying in Primary school, and Secondary school.
Before the class starts, me, as well as the other helpers set up the classroom, by arranging the chairs and tables.
Before the children start their class work, I check their homework to see if they have completed it, as well as to see if they have marked it properly. If they have not completed their homework, they will be given an opportunity to complete their homework, depending on how much questions they have left.
The students then will be assigned to complete the first few pages of a Maths and an English paper.
Once they have completed one page, it is a responsibility, as a class helper to ensure they are marking it themselves correctly. In addition to this, if they have corrections, which they don't understand, that will be gone through, and explained, so they will know how to answer the question, when doing their homework.
If there are any questions that they don't understand from their homework or classwork, it will be read and explained to them, so they will know how to answer the questions next time. However, questions are explained by additionally giving them examples, as this will help them better understand the questions.
Furthermore, if they are unsure of words, or meanings, children are encouraged to use the dictionary, and also a thesaurus, to expand their vocabulary.
If students have finished their class work early, they will be suggested to either start their homework, or do extra work, such as a writing task, to enhance their handwriting, as well as their spelling, punctuation, grammar, and vocabulary.
Lastly, the class ends by organising next week's class work in front of the children folders, and their completed homework at the back of their folders.
