Advert description
Currently a Linguist in the RAF, I have a BA degree in French and Spanish and have lived and worked in France & Spain for a year.
During my four years at Cardiff University, I completed a teaching placement in South Wales teaching all ages of secondary school students up to GCSE level. I also have tutored GCSE and A-level French and Spanish additionally during spare time in the evenings.
I worked in Toulouse in the south of France in a French company where I became fluent in the language, then moved to Spain and taught English to adults in the community. I have also taught English to primary school children in Costa Rica on an English teaching placement with an NGO called GVI (Global Vision International).
My approach to teaching centres around creating an enjoyable and interactive way of learning such as discussions on popular culture, music and food. I also like to empower my students in their learning by encouraging their creativity.
Languages are my passion and the exchanges of cultures is without a doubt a bonus. Learning to speak a language is something which I believe everybody has the ability to do, it’s a matter of having the right teaching and guidance and a mentor who encourages you to make mistakes. Empowering students and building confidence is crucial and I am a positive character who can build students’ confidence and show how enriching learning these languages (or any language for that matter!) can be. 😊
