Advert description
Hello, I have a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry from the University of Nottingham. I am also an IB alumna accredited a 7 in HL Chemistry and HL Biology. I also have a bilingual diploma in English and Albanian accredited by the IBO. I have excellent communication skills gained through volunteering as an assistant therapist at a non-profit organisation for children and adults with Down Syndrome.
I love teaching and I promise I can make chemistry less frighting for your lovely children. My plan of action if you trust me with this task would be as follows...
I would make a list of learning outcomes for each month of teaching and communicate this to my student and their parents at the beginning of each month. My classes would be around 1 hour long, the first 5-7 minutes of which I would revisit the previous topic and make sure it is clear to my student and the learning outcomes have been achieved. Then I would have a blended teaching approach for around 40 minutes, where I explain and teach the new concept/lesson of the day, then give exercises and activities to make sure my student has understood it. The last 10-ish minutes I would have my student practice knowledge from previous lessons, to make sure they still remember them, as well as to ensure that all the knowledge obtained is linked rather than scattered in bits. The last part I think, is really important when tackling chemistry, as it is often easy to concentrate on individual learning outcomes and facts and therefore miss the "bigger picture" of the subject, why we study it and how it is all linked.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I would love to be in touch and get to know you / your child :)
