I like to use scaffolding techniques to help students build a strong foundation in their learning experience, I also think they're really understand the topics better and more holistically. Additionally, adding activities like games or role-playing so students can apply some of the concepts learned also adds to their learning experience and I can easily identify those who are making sense of the material and those who may still have some content gaps to be filled.
