Biology tutoring A level students

I am a biologist with a B.Sc. honors in Zoology from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and a Ph.D.

I have teaching experience at both the school and university levels. I have been a tutor for over 10 years and have taught a large number of students face-to-face and online.

I follow the Understand, Revise, and Apply method to make the student familiar with the subject matter. To make the student understand, I start with what students know from their previous learning, relate the new topic, and slowly add new things. Once the student understands it, I will revise the matter with general questions, and later I will have more application-based questions to improve the applicability of the knowledge. Finally, I will guide the student to answer exam questions by testing their approach to answering and making corrections where needed. The student will get a good grasp of the subject without having to work excessively beyond in-class work.
