Jim is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, where he studied pre-med for two years and obtained a B.A. in history. He also graduated with honors from the Hofstra University School of Law and was a managing editor of the Law Review. After his undergraduate degree, Jim taught Chemistry and Biology at a Catholic high school in Queens and then English in Japan for several years. Following law school, he served as a federal law clerk and practiced litigation for over 20 years. During that time, he taught law to paralegals at Hofstra University and coached a city high school’s moot court and mock trial teams. In 2019, Jim returned to teaching full-time at St. Mary's, a co-ed Catholic high school, where he has taught English Skills to international students, Human Biology, English Literature, Composition, Global History, Economics, and AP US Government.
