Advert description
I have been educating students in Mathematics and Physics for almost 40 years in two countries, Greece (my homeland) and Denmark (where I have lived for 17 years), in three languages, Greek, English and Danish, and on several different educational levels and settings, including:
- the International Baccalaureate (IB) program,
- the British IGCSE and A Levels program,
- public Upper Secondary Schools in Denmark,
- private english speaking Secondary Schools in Athens,
- the University of Aarhus, Denmark,
- private tutoring for pupils in Denmark and Greece,
- online tutoring for pupils on different locations around the world,
- non-profit organisations supporting immigrants, refugees and vulnerable groups.
My educational praxis is based on the following set of values:
- to inspire and motivate the students by my personal example and ethos,
- to encourage and train the students in thinking, wondering, experimenting, exploring, discovering, questioning and developing critical thinking, rather than memorizing and reproducing,
- to ensure the necessary for the educational process discipline, not by means of disciplinary sanctions, but by stimulating the interest for the lesson and by establishing a mutual respect,
- to maintain a good balance between the theoretical and the practical aspects of the subject,
- to acknowledge and accommodate the different academic levels and learning styles of the students,
- to deliver a lesson that is animated and connected to everyday life.
Specially qualified in:
- establishing a fruitful collaboration with the student, by accommodating the psychological aspects of learning,
- summarising the syllabus in a clear, systematic, structured and self-explaining way, which makes it much easier to understand, look up and revise.

- Master’s degree in Mathematics and Physics from University of Aarhus, Denmark.
- Bachelor degree in Physics from University of Athens, Greece.
