Advert description
Maths is a natural human intuition and I promise that I will unlock that innate ability in you. No matter what you've been convinced of.
Martin in a nutshell
I am a maths, Physics and applied maths tutor offering tuition in all levels of these subjects.

Focusing on fostering good habits of self-study and discipline I will guide students towards the realisation of their true mathematical potential.

I'm very aware of the difficulties students face when it comes to mastering maths, but through understanding and attention to where the students are, I'm confident I can teach students the methods of self study I used to get a H1 in my leaving cert ( Highest grade in Irish Final maths exam Secondary School).
Confidence when it comes to maths is huge. A student's personal belief in their own ability has a huge bearing on their success. Maths at the end of the day is about making arguments and being secure in the logical validity of those arguments to the point where you can feel that you are correct. This might seem obvious to some but it is very common that a lot of students convince themselves they can't do maths because of a negative experience in school. I will work to dissolve that corrosive self-doubt and make students aware of their own intuitive ability in mathematics.

I'm a PhD candidate in M Theory/String theory. I am a Trinity College graduate with a first class honours bachelors in theoretical physics and a first class honours master's degree in strings quantum fields and gravity. I have studied maths at its least intuitive and most complex point for over 5 years so I have a lot of experience with trying to deconstruct maths to its most basic forms to help myself understand the concepts I encounter. It is for this reason that I have full confidence that I will be able to make maths intuitive and natural for my students.
