I think it’s important to have a keen process to solving problems; 1. to understand how and what a question is actually asking you (identify key words) 2. To match this problem to one of a set of methods outlined in detailed notes as well as key formulas from your log tables 3. Apply said method to the problem (with the help of practicing lots of previous similar questions) 4. Allow yourself to make multiple attempts at a question leaving all rough work clearly visible until you are satisfied/ the time which you have assigned to this question has been used.
