It lights me up when students achieve their true and fullest potential. I’ll make clear to the student that their progress will be a joint effort between me and them and I promise to give them my 100% and ask that they give me their 100%. I’ll ask for their weak points so we can target these areas by explaining the concepts and then using methods of active recall such as a quiz or kahoot to make sure they can remember what they’ve learnt whilst being engaging and fun. I’ll also help them to create essay plans for each topic as having essay plans helps you to have knowledge on both AO1 and AO3 in psychology and so they can answer short form questions as well as essays. We will also tackle exam style questions to make sure that their exam technique is intact. However I do understand that different students will find different methods entertaining and helpful hence I’ll end sessions asking the student to reflect and to help me by telling me what they liked and found helpful so I know what works for them and what doesn’t so we can adapt to their style of learning moving forward.
