Advert description
Since I was a child, I have always had a love for reading, and was often a part of a summer reading program with my primary school. English has always been one of my favourite subjects in school, and that was hugely due to the fact my English teacher was amazing at conveying the subject efficiently to the class. She was very welcoming and made you feel comfortable to ask questions when you were confused which was extremely helpful in opening up the classroom to everyone. That is why I would love to continue teaching, so that I might be a reason that someone might continue their learning.
I graduated from University College Cork in April 2023 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and Music and received my 120 Hour Premier TEFL Qualification in November 2023. I have been teaching English as a foreign language in Barcelona for the last 8 months with Number16 School. I have worked in both a class setting and one-to-to, online and in person classes, as well as children and adult conversational classes.
I had the responsibility to conduct classes clearly while keeping the students engaged, to conduct grammar reviews to help monitor the student's progress, and conduct examinations at the end of their course.
I moved home to Ireland last week and starting on the 15th-26th of July 2024, I'm going to be a teaching assistant for CTYI (Centre for Talented Youth Ireland). This is a children's summer course that aids them in discovering what they might like to do when they finish school. It gives them opportunities in discovering themselves and their interests which I think is extremely beneficial and helpful and I am excited to be a part of such a program.
