I am a student who used to struggle a lot with mathematics and once I got the hang of it I began to enjoy it a lot and found it to be very rewarding

The way that I would teach is as follows: Firstly understand what board of Mathematics my students are taught at school and read up on the syllabus to ensure that what I teach in the sessions are applicable to exams and even in class. Secondly, I would then ask the students (first session or even prior) what specifically are they getting taught in lessons that they are struggling with and start creating sessions based off that and also what they will be taught in school (i.e. I would advise students to ask teachers what they will be taught so that I can create some help sheets regarding topics so that they can be ahead!) From my experience each student can have a slightly or vastly different approach in studying for mathematics. And I will aim to identify which approach will benefit the student and perhaps create a study plan for them!
