A Creative Generalist based in West Sussex, with a passion for distinctive contextual storytelling through various creative media

After graduating from my Animation degree back in 2017, I have subsequently been working as a freelance creative generalist for the last few years, in the disciplines of photography, mixed-media animation and other creative media, alongside my day job working with young people with SEND.

I have a particular passion to empower young people with challenges to learn new skills and creative outlets, to combat mental health whilst learning a useful skill to share their story, or stories of influential figures in their life, giving them a creative voice in today's saturated society, with influencers and celebrities often taking the spotlight, the small gems of wisdom from a young person can be both simple and powerful, yet often missed, in a world with overwhelming expectations and mental health on the rise, I believe creativity can be a powerful voice for both expression and communication.

As a creative with a love for mixed media approaches to creativity, in our lessons we would explore and try out both traditional, digital and mixed media methods of storytelling and visual communication, taking into account the environmental, character, lighting and central atmospheric theme of each piece we research, plan and create using photography, still creativity and motion picture, alongside other creative techniques and mediums. We will start with the basics of how to use equipment and resources, working through to building a confident creative process and the final layers that can be added in post production to add an additional emotive connection and compass to the final piece. The latter can be tailored to your interests, aspirations and creative strengths. You will also be set fun homework between most sessions to test out skills you develop, or finish pieces we've started in session, to create distinctive pieces that encourage reflection and communicate a message your passionate about in today's society. I will also teach you some of the basics of getting started with key AI platforms to generate AI images, AI animation, and how AI can help speed up work flows and in the ideas and research phase of project planning and development. The software's and equipment may require a budget, but we will always try and use free, reputable resources where possible. I'll give you all the information to go away and look into these within the first few sessions.
