In a typical first session I meet with the student for a friendly discussion of their learning style, learning aims, and learning focus (e.g. which subject/text/curriculum they are working on). I then plan a series of workshops tailored to the student’s needs and approach, taking into account conditions such as dyslexia. I prioritise making ideas clear and accessible, explaining complex concepts and making sure the student feels included in the learning process.
