Advert description
Hello, my name is Hafsah, and I am a physics student at Kings College London specialising in medical physics, which has been my goal for the past three years. I wasn't a particularly strong student who understood things right away, and my grades were only average, so Kings appeared to be a dream. However, after two years of hard work and taking the time to truly understand the subject I enjoyed, I was finally able to understand and learn to love the subject in which I now wish to pursue a career. I'd like to help other students achieve their goals as well, regardless of where they want to go. I'd like to do my best to help students understand and enjoy the topics I can teach.
My chosen field is physics, but I intend to pursue a career in medical physics. I enjoy medical physics because it allows me to understand how physics can help cure and or treat diseases in ways never before possible, and how it all works. I also get to see a side of technology that no other field does. I will assist my student in any way I can, including running through the topics in sections and explaining how and why things work to the best of my ability, answering exam questions, assisting with revision timetables, and/or creating a plan with the goals they want to achieve. I went from a grade D student to an A student so nothing is impossible and with a little help, you can achieve the goals you wish. My sessions are nice and easy to follow.
To begin with, I spend less than 5 minutes explaining what we will be doing in the session. In the next 20 to 25 minutes I will start to teach and explain the topic at hand. I will also go through key concepts, definitions of keywords as well as the use of some equations in real-life situations. Once the foundations are there I will then build up to harder ideas and try to relate them.
then with the remaining 25 minutes, I normally like to go through one or two simple questions to build up the students confidence and then I will start to bring in some exam-style questions of different levels of difficulty for the students to try or to pick apart. I don't always ask students to solve or answer the questions rather how they would go about doing it because I like to know how they think and how we can improve on strategy as well as methods.
In the last few minutes of the session, I like to ask the student how they think the lesson went
